Coverage of Children’s Issues in Media

Stage II of the "Ethical Coverage of Children’s Issues in Media" project is implemented by the Georgian Charter of Journalist Ethics with the support of UNICEF. Building upon Stage I (completed in 2013), the project moni Stage II of the "Ethical Coverage of Children’s Issues in Media" project is implemented by the Georgian Charter of Journalist Ethics with the support of UNICEF. Building upon Stage I (completed in 2013), the project monitors and analyses electronic, broadcast and print media coverage of children’s issues and media adherence to ethical and professional standards[1]. Project activities include media monitoring, workshops for journalists, meetings with media representatives, and identification of in-depth works on children’s issues. This report summarises media monitoring carried out during the period 15 January 2014 to 1 June 2014 and sets out findings, analysis, violations and recommendations. A separate sub-chapter is dedicated in the report to the assessment of the coverage of children’s issues on June 1, International Day for Protection of Children.
